Workshop Topics & Details
Guts to Lead
Create a culture of courageous leadership that protects your organization against stagnation and myopia.
Duration: 2 hours
Max participants: 20
The most successful organizations are those with the most resilient workforce – their leaders are not afraid to speak up when the market shifts, customer needs change, or multi-million dollar initiatives veer off course.
This program introduces participants to the 4 Universal Qualities of Brave Leaders, and guides them through a multi-step process designed to inspire individual acts of courage. The process begins with a short story drawn from our book, Brave Leaders, and is selected based on your group’s specific objectives.
This program is ideal for established organizations looking to reenergize management or for new organizations looking to establish its leadership culture. It is most effective when an executive-level champion participates.
Workshop Objectives
As a result of this program, participants will:
- Understand the 4 Universal Qualities of Brave Leaders
- Recognize the strategic difference between risk and recklessness
- Experience a replicable 4-step process for cultivating courage
- Discover the power of storytelling as a strategy for raising difficult issues or engaging in constructive conflict

Think about it: Every major movement starts with a powerful story.
In this workshop, you’ll be inspired by a few short stories from brave leaders around the world who brought about meaningful and transformative change at great risk – to their reputation, careers, livelihood and even their lives.
We’ll use their stories as the foundation of a 4-step process that leads from creating awareness, to processing new ideas, and ultimately identifying specific action steps to make change happen.
Workshop Objectives
- Discover the power of using short stories to inspire change
- Experience a replicable 4-step process that transforms inspiration into action

Workshop Add-On: Storytelling for Leaders
Inside every leader is at least one – and often many – inspirational stories that are waiting to be shared! In this supplemental workshop, we’ll give you time to generate your own collection of leadership stories.
We’ll map out your career or leadership journey and identify touchpoints (some long forgotten) that informed your personal values, tested your courage, or called for resilience. We’ll spend some time creating and delivering them for feedback and refinement.
Duration: 2 hours
